Somewhere Along A Street

A moment quiet
In the depth of time
Somewhere along a street
Seemingly endless.
I see shadows of the past
Passing hither and tither
Crossing every narrow path
Somewhere along a street
Seemingly endless.

A moment quite
Like the stillness of Monet's impression
Colors and light, but quietness inexplicable
Somewhere along a street
Seemingly endless.
I see trails of laughter shrouded in pain
Floating in the musky air
Somewhere along a street
Seemingly endless.

I see deadness all along, shadowy though
Masking a reality of a world of battling egos
Where the fittest survives, the weakest dies
Somewhere along a street
Seemingly endless.

I see I am becoming a shadow
Trying to hide from the war
That paints the earth with blood
And buries the body of many
Somewhere along a street
Seemingly endless.

I see
I am awakened
A dream gone
But the grimy faces of war
Remain
to stitch gory stories
Of maimed physiques, blinded souls,
And hopelessness.

  2. Yes sir I see that same street but I can't hide from the fogs of wars anymore. Now is the time to choose a side and fight, life may depend on the actions of a single poets soul.
