Wakefulness

In the wake of the night
I speak to none but me
A controversy within a conflict
I exist one with this universe.
Life proposes many things
But, I dispose some of them,
In fear of some uncertainties
I am sitting here wondering eternity.

In the wake of the night
The owl in the forest is sleeping tight
I am sitting here wondering eternity
Admiring that thoughts flimsy, yet powerful.
I wonder if I am awakening in my thoughts.
Or, my thoughts awakening in me?
Both ways life spares nothing eternal
But, only this certainty of uncertainty.

It revolves faster than anything in nature
The thoughts of mine and others’ as well
Before I set to answer one
Another comes in with a question mark.
As strange as everything appears around me
Nothing I feel is stranger than the thoughts
Believed to be from the brain matters
Yet not a brainy scientist ever dissected a thought.

In the wake of the night
I speak to none but me
A controversy within a conflict
I exist one with this universe.

I wish thoughts had shadows too.
