Breezes with flair

About the human affair

That has become a funfair.

Quintessentially human

As proverbial children

We allow blazing greed

To sway us away with blatant lies.

Short-lived moments of joy,

Is but a trail covered with brown leaves

And, ashes of ignominy soils the soul

With greed breeds the clutching terror

We die a death scarier, the fated tale of many.

Profundity

It is cold

The skin cries in vain

I the soul, loses all the stains.

Surrounded by scattered sparkling joys

The starry night conquers my soul

This night I evaporate my aspirations in her beauty,

This road is all I have to drag my feet all along.

I halt at every few steps at the sound of wind

But, it is my own breathing I hear more and more

Telling me the truth of lies that I am breathing unsettled

And the murky mind let itself trapped in the cyclic rotation.

The road appears far and narrow with the clouded atmosphere

I am not settled with the world outside, never ever

I know I am but me, the silence beyond quietness

The oneness without a second

Yet turning towards me is the hardest of all, as,

the whimsical tones of senses play hide and seek with me

And, the shadows remain real.

Monsoon

the wet monsoon wind
touches the rain with love
seductive indeed the tryst
between the wind and the rain.
the earth languishing in heat
until the eastern shower begins
she slowly allows herself to melt
as the heat of seduction in cold rises.

this is the monsoon hated and despised
by many, yet choice do we have any? Nay
the play has to go on, in flood nor in rain
for life is nothing but of sorrow and smile.

Happy New Year 2012

The year is rolling away

Swiftly thinning the days

Time in its eternal sleep

Playing hide and seek with us.

Few more weeks to go

Perhaps few more days for some

It matters not for many

Yet it matters most for all.

Good things and bad things

Intertwined between laughter and cries

Made this year another year

And what is in store for the upcoming year?

Time in its eternal sleep

Deceives us with the eternal play

Uncertainty is the only certainty

Yet it appears so illusively evanescent.

Time to garner another garland

Made from this year’s investment

Another year was a future unseen

Sooner it is coming to greet us.

Survival is the name given to this life

Yet the philosophy teaches a different thing

Survival says we live to survive another day

But, philosophy says we survive to live another day.

Nothing passes away in this eternal ride

Everything exists as it has always been

Some secrets are hidden from the mind

Thus time becomes like compartmental train.

Yesterday today and tomorrow

All are eternally one and the same

Yet the mind deceives us all the time

Into believing each is but different.

Knowing well the secret of present

The eternity shall become a delightful ‘present’

For the soul is beyond time and matter

Knowing that, nothing else matters – life alone.

But, to embrace time and to walk with it

This mind needs its own time to mature

Thus comes the calendar of the moon and the sun

So in festivities and merry making this life shall go around.

Mama your memory rushes heavily today

Soaking my cheeks with the milk you fed

I may be as old as anything can be in this world

This bond made of spirit I will eternally cherish.

I felt you everywhere as I walked while weeping in whispers.

You were there and I could feel that your were there

Patting my heart with silent hushes of memory

Promising me this motherly love is a divine craft.

Mama, your memory etched down deep within my soul

Is meant to last till the last breath that I can hold

A mother you are the greatest artist of love and care

This heart wrenched and drenched that very day you left.

Mama, juggling between the life and mysteries it confer

I am made to understand of my introvert nature

I may have not uttered the words, “I love you”

Yet, I know being a supreme mum you understand me well.

Mama, as I thin away in the journey of this life

I am feeling more and more the presence of your world

The Great Lord is always gracious with His Blessings

And, today I thanked Him for sending you invisibly to touch my cheeks.

Those days of good, bad, pain, pleasure, desperation and depression

Are still very much printed within me as I carry myself around

But, I am grateful that as a greatest mum I’ve ever had for now and forever

Your words of consolation still freshly playing in my ears.

God bless you mama, wherever you are now.

Unsheathing the robe

As the dew drop falls high up from the sky
She changed her pinkish red robe to pale yellow
And in the early morning hours she glistens in joy
When kissed by the golden orbs of the rising sun.

And, she evolves as the shadow shorten in nature's play
The pale yellow robe she cast away to don the bright yellow one
As the shadow lengthens the bright yellow robe slowly falls off too
And another robe is donned, light green in color
Come night as nature climb in time, light green robe unsheathes,
At the height of the seasonal transition tannin gains its way
And give her the last robe of her life in brown before the end of her play.

She knows tannin has arrived and the moment has finally dawn
In the roaring wind with the brown robe she dons
In gentle separation she dances away from the tree
And her dance floats in the air before touching the sod.

In brown, with her midrib, the veins and the netted veins
Naked, she remains a beauty as ever
And, the pride of mother earth swells
Waiting patiently for another leave to touch the sod.

Blindness

a tinge of blackness

falls over the night sky.

blinded from birth

this darkness is the light

of his vision.

He unwraps himself from within

The petals bloom inward

And, he realises the darkness external

Is the light eternal for him.

The light within unseen though

Flickers silently at the back of his mind

He sees light everyday, but in the darkness.

I found where heaven is.....

i carved my name on the tree bark
and expressed my love for the tree
but, the wind and rain couldn't bear that
they whipped the tree to its death.
i placed my word on the sandy beach
and expressed my love for her too
but the ocean came roaring
it wiped off my words on the golden beach.

jealousy, I suppose.

thus done,
I let my love swim across the ocean
and, I said, "I love you dear sea"
but, in its clumsy response
the sea grabbed my love with tidal wave
and all is gone.
I blew my love into the wind
and I said, "i love you dear wind"
but, the rain came pouring
my love drenched and was buried under the weight.
I sprayed my love for the rain
and I said, "I love you dear rain",
but, the sun got jealous and
my love evaporated without a trail.
thus done
I offered my love to the sun
and, I said, "I love you my dear sun"
but, the sun in its burning romance
accidentally burnt my love
and, unto ashes my love is gone.

I fed my love to that homeless man
and, I said, "I love you man"
with tears in his eyes
he embraced me tight
and he said, "thank you, sir".

I looked around
the wind begins to whisper louder
the trees begin to dance gaily
the sun begins to mellow its shine
the ocean reflects the streaks of golden rays
the rain begins to sprinkle its shower

and now i know where heaven lies
in the poor man's smile.

the sun rises in the east
and dies in the west,
as usual it was on nineleventwothousandone
another day came without mask of terror.
brutish minds coordinated the blow
in the name of god and religion
mortars and metals crumbled unto dust
and souls snatched from mortal sleep.
fragmented emotions in painful anticipation
relatives, friends and entire human family awakened
abruptly from their routine chores
together all prayed for one or two lives to be spared,
if possible all.
tragedy struck with deadly blast
flying metals rocked the air
within minutes twin towers crushed
sending dust filling the space around.

humankind has left a void in humanity
brutish minds rejoiced for this carnage
roses plucked with vengeance
and petals strewn beneath the rubble.
grief stricken many families were equally dead
still walking the surface of this earth with little hope
fear unfurled itself unto each and everyone effected
silently silenced many living ones.

though the dead had touched the eternal shore
the eyes of terror is still watching
in the name of god and religion
the terror ride is still on
none is at peace
and each step taken seems like a suicide.
the living hopes to leave intact and in peace.

Railway station

the early morning train
chugs the silence away
breaking the barriers of meditation
it creates the cacophonous morning awakening.
all the benches occupied by revelers of night darkness
and travelers whose train fast to reach
while luggage of various size and colors
find the station floor a best place to rest.

cats and dogs roam the station floor
in search of some left overs to chase their hunger
and in a corner a beggar leaning against the wall
begging sympathy from the worn out travelers.
for a moment life revolves at high speed
in rush people walk about searching something
making the station a little different and busy
as the morning breeze sweeps across.

a stall selling magazines, newspapers, mineral waters
as early as 4:00 am start to draw people
cigarettes, lighters and canned drinks
among the hot stuff bought by many.
across the street food stalls being swarmed
for hot cakes, bread and many more,
and steaming coffee on most tables
to wipe of the cold temperature of the morning hours.

the night rain hasn't stop its rhyme yet
and the hill yonder covered with misty blanket
it is very cold but life's goal keep moving on
another train arrive to set the day busy and alive.

Meanness

The timorous whispering voice
Crackles the eerie silence,
As the gun, nears the forehead.
This haggardly, seeps the rusty fear in.
The colors of the world
In lugubrious pattern of painful emotion
Kill the hope of many souls
That pray the light will soon dawn.
Big cities, small cities and villages
All are prone to this evil of the kings
The crown of humanity we dare to call us
With our hands we push the reality away.

In the street the pain lurks
As I see the grimacing faces under the blanket
Neglected physically and psychologically
Hopelessness roots the rotting.
Have we done enough?
Have we ever had enough of many things of life?
Have we ever been under the open sky in cold winter?
We cast one eye on them
The other we cast on brands of trend,
We place our hand in the pockets
Thus we walk the alleys of life
As if the pain of plain humanity
Speaks not her sorrow with tears and disabilities,
And we return home to romance with the creature comforts.

The timorous whispering voice
Crackles the eerie silence,
A signatory of life’s deprivation
At the height of wanton selfishness.

Our eyes met for the first time

Your benevolent gaze

And my anticipatory look

Sealed the silence in perfect harmony.

I asked a lot of things

Yet you said nothing at all

I beseech your forgiveness

Yet you said nothing at all.

The hoary silence that carries you around

Is too mystical for me to experience,

As Your steps kiss the soil gracefully

There too I heard nothing but only silence.

Down deep within me

I know that you are aware of me

But, why this silence of the dead

When I try to reach out to you?

Have I indulged in too much worldliness,

That blocks me the right to be with you?

Aren’t you suppose to guide me through

With love and consoling words?

I don’t know who you are in that body of yours

The experience I have had some time ago

Kills my conscience daily with arguments

About who and what you are actually.

The parables of motion, and words of silence

I play not that game my master

I am too little for this game of yours

And the rules seem too harsh for me to follow.

I know you are love personified

Just like many masters who had come and gone

Just like many masters who may come in the future

I know like an open book you let yourself move.

But, I am too little to know that words of your message

Day and night I crave for your presence in my conscience,

Alas!! You are too illusive beyond my mind’s grasp

And, I keep hoping for that illusory veil is removed soon.

Too little knowledge is too dangerous to make a life

I know you said that many times before and now as well,

But, that is all I could afford to offer, for that’s the size of my coffer.

Take it to your heart’s content, allow me a little contentment

Please stop this hide and seek game, I am lost many a times

And, again and again I don’t want to be the loser.

My master, I know my faith is tested by your silence

Like the dried leaf I am allowing myself to drop

Blown by the wind till it reaches merciless end

I know my faith is tested, give me your hand my dear master

Only once, and let me sleep in your bosom

And walk the eternity in your dream

Allow me to be certain of your uncertainty

The world within a circle

Life revolves for many of us

Revolting against the world beyond

We close the door to our hearts.

Senses five, with experience manifold

Caging us in deliberate ignorance

Wanting not more of our being

We become prisoners of our own selves.

Across the circle, a world vast lies

We all know that very well

Yet, within our ignorance we dwell.

Lugubriously we walk with cheerful mask

Cheating the world and ourselves too

For us this world within the circle

Is itself too much to bear and bask.

The hoariness of a distant memory

Echoes the mystical chorus from somewhere

I know there is a place hidden in time

I do keep it stored as fresh as ever.

Shadow

He lies in pain writhing vaguely

Fighting the gripping pain in his stomach,

He the shadow of a society

A civilized society

That lives a dead life.

In the dead of the night

The homeless eyes shrunken deep

Burning like amber

The eyes of a soul neglected.

The tree cries too for him by shedding a few leaves

And, under that tree, he found his way to be free

The wind sings too, a solemn breeze for this man,

Whose life is but the shadow of our ignorance.

Tonight, perhaps tonight will be the last night of him

As the night goes deeper,

Bloodsucking creatures began to climb on him.

The tattered shirt is no more a shirt

But rags worn over a dying body,

That we use to wipe off the dirt of our feet.

A body long forgotten by the living

For they live a materialists civilization.

Thrown on one person, or perhaps more

By cohesive civilized ignorance

He, a loser not. Laziness perhaps a word rusted.

They ‘whys’ of this man’s life is not the question here.

Insignia of our ignorance

The homeless is our shadow of selfishness

Placing our feet along the same route daily

Hardly to our heart this homeless finds his way.

The shadow is dying.

Birds chirp, and monkeys chatter
Leaves rustle, and grass dances
As the wind sweeps across
To kiss the falling dewdrops
The sun rises with brilliant golden rays
Bathing dewdrops with utmost worship,
Magnificent colors diversify
And, each color speaks a language.

As each lays on the leaves and grass
The meadow sparkles colorfully
Another painting for another day
Nature speaks in many ways
This hour in the morning
Just a fraction of the mystery
Of what nature will ever be
And, of what we will ever see.

Go as far as you may

To the stars high up and earth beneath

In the moon and the sun

In the air and the space

All space filled invisibly, with,
This energy masked by manifestation.
In delusory subjugation we let ourselves down

'Coz, we have lost the key to the heart
The seat of faith, food for soul.

We stumble and stumble

Searching Him far far away

And, we find Him not in our hearts.

Because he who sees through the eyes

See Him not, as the basis of his vision.
In all that is seen and in unseen
In that which is filled and in hollowness
In space beyond the reach of eyes
In the rocks, trees, animals and in humankind
And, between the walls and pillars of many houses
Churches, Temples and Mosques
He lies still engrossed in His own play
And, the dissected mind portrays
Him to be different here, and different there
He is now here, and yet appears as if He is no where!
But, beads that appears separate in a garland
Strung together by a single thread
The thread we hardly see.

The divine invisible is everywhere

But, in creation He speaks His language.
The idea is evident and clear
The ideal makes it happen.

The devils we befriend many times

Endlessness of a beginningless

I search for the lost Thee

Within my eyes, You see Yourself clearly

Yet I see not that, but the world external.

Within my ears, You sound Yourself finely

In the water as bubbles You appear to me

In the sea as waves You rush towards me

In the universe as smile, You render me mesmerized

In the fire as heat, You warm me during cold

I venture in search of Thee,

I am undoing the senses slowly

I know this body is just a body
this I shall leave sooner or later
beyond the earthen room
I shall wander together with the wind, again.
I wonder what this attachment called ego
too much to bear but its all over and everywhere
where this body goes with the soul
there it speaks of this ego of superiority and dominance.

Is this a mere physique given for joy?
Is this a mere physique given to live?
In delusion we trust the mirror
that reflects this body ugly or beautiful
every effort is made to maintain this body
to remain as it is in youth, forever to remain so.

Why this painful challenge on humankind?
Aging is the hardest when it comes to acceptance
what to say when the energy saps away gradually
every cell is made to cry for eternal youth.
Whither goes humankind with the wish to remain forever young?
while the mind and the senses made to succumb with all extremes
we bask in hard refusal of the eternal truth that speaks of evolution
that process the eternity will never forsake to our selfish craving.

I know this body is just a body
this I shall leave sooner or later
beyond the earthen room
I shall wander together with the wind, again.
the bond of the senses
shall never touch me again
one with universe I will eternally become.

spreading shadows and reflecting lights
all too good, a damn perfect sight
and the heaven shower sprinkles joy

Being alone and loneliness

Half of my life is spent being alone, and I enjoy that existence very much. It gives me time to ponder, to understand, to view and review life from many different angles.Being alone, I cherished that moment most and it gives me the energy needed, the motivation needed, the courage to fight off the fear and many more.But that doesn't mean that I don't have friends. I do have many friends, but only one true friend (Venus) who truly understands me, perhaps better than I understand myself. I appreciate her friendship very much.

But, it is the loneliness that kills me hard. It murders me out-rightly. In solitude I am one with the Universal Energy, called God by many. When I am alone, I am the thoughts, emotions and the desires that guide me to evaluate my presence here. But, in loneliness I am a dead tree. I do not grow. It adds pain. It adds worries.

Loneliness is a world totally different from being alone.It speaks a dangerous language. A slip into that can be fatal for many. Two powers that stands opposed to each other. One builds, another one kills.

Science vows to unravel the mystery of this Mighty One

But, at each layer they stop only to marvel the ceaselessness

And permeates the macrocosm and microcosm of this existence.

I do not believe that such a magnificent splendorous energy

Be bonded by religious, traditions, race and languages

Like colors of many kinds the flower comes forth in the garden

Likewise the existence folds and unfolds in myriad exhibition.

I believe in this energy that walks the space with love

Casts its gaze on each and all without a second’s absence

I believe not the God that speaks through volumes of printed materials

Yet remain handcuffed within the borders of one religion.

The grandeur power that underlies the passivity of creation

The unifying power that sustains the activities in creation

But by firm resolute and immersion in love we may understand a little.

It is hard to accept the reality

The reality confined within the realm of senses,

But beyond the realm of senses, my venture revealed

That you are still there as you always have been.

The care and the love sprinkled over six decades

I shall cherish every second till my breath last

And one day I know within the recess of my conscience

I shall dive again unto the eternity that brought me here,

And we shall meet again in the eternal slumber.

Yet I am trying my best to tell you that

Despite all the good things that we have shared

Despite all the differences that we have had

Amma..you are the one and only for now and ever.

As you lay there in eternal slumber

I pray to the mighty guardian of the universe

That unto peace and great love He place you well

And reveal to me again when the time come.

Painstakingly I am trying to accept the truth

Alas! Human I am…what can I do Amma

To forget is not the right word

Nor to erase the memory is a thing desired.

All I want now Amma, just let me know every now and then

That everything there is better than here

Reveal me please, where you are now.

We will meet again in eternal slumber,

Nostalgia

Between the thoughts I pine for fulfillment

Weeping the energy away hurrying without necessity

Like lightning, flashes of memory come and go

The moment stood at last a brief while

A stop that was once, painted again in my mind.

These sentiments hidden somewhere

Filling the melodies of life

Only to suddenly rise to remind

The moment gone will never take birth again.

The moment passes by witnessing the sitting me

Bidding goodbye in the seconds as aging marches on

But, I am hooked by my past, oblivious to my presence

I let those memories to grow and die within me.

Like a circle, knows not where the ending is

My thoughts dances non-stop

At times soothingly, at times violently

But, time cares a little about me as I slip through it.

Past, a never return passer by

Never turn to see as it passes by.
